Before I started carving birds, I spent 18 years working with children in foster care.
As the Chair of a Cobb County Georgia Juvenile Court Citizen Review Panel, I spent 8 years reviewing foster care cases on behalf of the Cobb Country Juvenile Court Judges that adjudicated child deprivation cases. After moving to Dallas, Texas I spent the next 10 years as a Dallas CASA volunteer. CASA is a service that provides Court Appointed Special Advocates for children in foster care.
The highs and lows I experienced while working with children in foster care through these programs will stay with me forever. Therefore, 100% of all profits from Madeline Birds is donated to the National CASA/GAL Association for Children.
